Midweek Rides

Haverhill Cycling Club Midweek Rides

If you are thinking of trying out our club you are welcome to come out on a couple of rides to see whether it is right for you.  We would then politely invite you to join if you wish to continue to ride with us.

The Tuesday Trundle

Departs Aerocycles at 7pm.

A popular ride during the summer months this is a 1½ – 2 hour ride of 20-30 miles depending on the weather and the makeup of the group. This is very much a social occasion with an optional pub experience at the end of the ride – cheesy chips with your pint anyone?

Tuesday Night Training

Meeting point advised weekly in HCC Facebook Events. 7pm

This will alternate between the following:

Crit Training. A dash around the industrial estate comprising of short laps incorporating many turns and acceleration opportunities.

Chain gang. Working as a team taking it in turns to lead out front and encouraging collaborative speed work.

Joe’s Wednesday Afternoon Ride

Meeting point: Clements Surgery, Greenfields Way

Time: 1pm

Always to the speed of the least speedy rider and with the guarantee that no-one gets left behind, these rides are usually about 30miles with a coffee stop at some point in the proceedings.

The Thursday Thriller

Departs Haverhill Market Square at 7pm

A ride of around 30 miles at an average speed of 17mph+. The ride will leave as a group and return as a group but there will be opportunities for sprints in between if traffic and road conditions allow.

HCC Ladies Ride

Friday. Departs Aerocycles at 9.30am

Led by women for women, this ride usually covers 40-50 miles at a pace of 14-16 mph although we guarantee that no one gets left behind. Men may request to join in with the ride but as a general rule the majority of riders will be female.  Coffee stop along the route allows for even more chat and a much welcome rest.
